DAY 1: JOHANNESBURG – MAUN – CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

On your arrival at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, you will be met by a Finding Africa representative who will provide you with all the documents necessary for your journey. Catch your connecting flight to Maun, Botswana. Once through customs, you will be welcomed and transferred to your lodge by light aircraft. Your luxurious lodge is located in the heart of the ChobeNational Park, often referred to as ‘the elephant capital of the world’.  As this camp is situated in the ChobeNational Park; game viewing activities are offered in the morning and late afternoons in open 4x4 safari game viewing  vehicles. In addition, all tents, public areas and the swimming pool overlook the adjacent water hole so it is not uncommon to see elephant and predator activity from the luxury of your own tent.

DAY 2: SAVUTE ELEPHANT CAMP (CHOBE NATIONAL PARK)

Expect an early wake-up call; and after a light breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive.  On returning to the camp a full buffet brunch is offered followed by time to rest and relax. A light tea will precede the afternoon game drive during which wine, beer, soft drinks & snacks will be served at sundown. The evening meal is served either in the main dining area or the boma depending on the day with a wine presentation.

Elephants at Khwai River Lodge
DAY 3 & 4: KWAI RIVER LODGE
Today you will transferred via light aircraft to Khwai River Lodge, Nestled on the edge of a leadwood and fig tree forest and overlooking the vast Khwai River floodplains and beyond into the Moremi Wildlife Reserve.

 


Activities at the camp include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4X4 vehicles, after dark spotlight game drives and guided safari walks along the Khwai River. Cultural visits to the local Khwai village can also be arranged as can full day excursions to the Okavango Delta.

DAY 5 & 6: EAGLE ISLAND CAMP

Today you fly to Eagle Island Camp at Xaxaba  -  one of the Delta’s most pristine natural locations, a region of myriad waterways, palm-treed islands and vast flood plains. During the months of April through October the camp offers a choice of game viewing by mokoro (traditional dugout canoe), motorized boats and sundowner barges to the surrounding lagoons. When water levels are low (December through March), morning, afternoon and evening game drives are offered in open 4x4 vehicles. Guided safari walks are offered all year around on the surrounding islands. A highlight of your stay will definitely be an inclusive helicopter game viewing flight of 45 minutes over the Okavango Delta.

DAY 7: RETURN FLIGHT
After a last morning game activity you will be transferred via light aircraft back to Maun where your connection flight to Johannesburg will depart.

This package is valid from the 1 May - the 30 June 2011.


The same package taken during the period of 1 July – 31 October 2011, is valued at US$ 7 320.00


Any changes made to the itinerary will influence the total price.

The final price will take into account the availability of the services indicated on the itinerary.

Please note the following for flights to/ from Maun and the intercamp flights:



  • The maximum luggage taken on board per passenger is 20 kg, including hand  luggage.

  • The luggage comprises of soft type bags, each with a maximum dimension of 35cm by 70cm in order to fit into the pod door.


TERMS & CONDITIONS


A 35 % deposit is required to confirm the booking and the balance of the payment is due 60 days before arrival.


Please note that Finding Africa is not responsible for any banking fees.


Finding Africa has the rights to cancel the entire tour bookings if the client has not paid in time the services offered.
