Makweti Safari Lodge is an experience for wildlife aficionados. It embodies the eras of Livingstone and Hemingway, while standing as a model of modern, environmentally sensitive taste. The Lodge caters to no more than 10 guests, with five luxury suites that blend into an ideal safari landscape which is a natural home for Africa’s “Big Five”.
Makweti has no fences, so the game wanders freely through the Lodge’s surrounds. Often, wild animals come to the stream-fed waterhole just 80 yards from the open lounge and viewing deck.
Beyond the waterhole, Makweti’s luxury suites and dining room command panoramic views across a gorge-defined valley.
Accommodation
To maintain an atmosphere of privacy, Makweti Safari Lodge offers only five suites. Each of them is luxurious and well-designed. Their interiors are balanced by the matching of colonial-style linens with African fabrics.
There are two room types: Pool Suites or Suites without pool. All suites include in- and outdoor showers, a Victorian bathtub, a log fire and a private deck with a plunge pool. The pool suites include in addition a private deck with a plunge pool.
