Desroches Island

The Desroches forms part of the Amirantes group of islands, a remote coral atoll (230km south-west off Mahé). The Island is strewn with coconut trees and is approximately 6 km long and 1 km wide boasting 14 km of coastline, offering a most idyllic setting.
Accommodation
The entire island has only one luxurious resort with 20 Junior Suites and 28 four bedroom Villas, all with sea-views and just a few steps from the beach.
Just 25 meters from the waters edge, the 20 Junior Suites (King size & Twin beds) are glass fronted to maximize the light and idyllic views and comes with your own private patio and Lounge. The suites are fully air-conditioned.
The 26 Four En-suite Bedroom Villas range in size from 440 to 660 to 750 square meters. Each has a private Rim flow swimming pool, entertainment area, fully equipped culinary kitchen, air-conditioning and serviced by a personal butler.
Facilities
The resorts facilities include, a lounge, dining room, bar, swimming pool, free internet access area, floodlight lit tennis court, Watersports and Dive Centre and a boutique shop.
The Coconut Spa is run by experienced and fully trained Balinese masseuses who offer a range of soothing and energizing spa treatments. Enjoy a relaxing & refreshing massage treatment at either the Spa centre, your own Suite or on the beach!
Activities
The activities on offer at Desroches are designed to give guests the opportunity to enjoy the island and its magic either under guidance from one of the hosts, or to give you the complete freedom to move around the Island at your own pace, either on foot or on the mountain bikes. Island bicycles are available for each guest to use and are suitable for getting from one side of the Island to the other with ease. Activities offered include, windsurfing, deep sea fishing, fly fishing, sea kayaking and sunset boat cruises.
There are numerous good snorkeling sites around Desroches Island. Masks and fins are available at the dive centre if you wish to explore these sites, either on your own or in the company of a staff member.
Numerous dive sites have been identified around Desroches Island. The resort offers ‘guided’ scuba experiences and a fully equipped dive centre.
Guests can enjoy an Island exploration to one of the nearby islands, St. Josephs and enjoy a fish barbeque on the beach. |
