Barra has secluded, unspoilt beaches, bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and the sea on the other. The lodge is nestled amongst groves of coconut trees and all rooms have beach and sea views. The warm Indian Ocean offers safe bathing all year round and the wide open beaches offer endless hours of strolling pleasure.

Barra Lodge caters for families with children and is geared towards fun and activities for the whole family.

Accommodation

The traditional Casitas are made of thatch, brick and reeds, and fitted with two beds, a shower and toilet en-suite.

The self catering cottages have two bedrooms, living area, kitchen, shower and separate toilet. There are six comfortable, single beds. All the basic amenities are supplied including a fridge, 2 plate gas stove, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, utensils, mosquito nets and bed linen. The cottages are serviced daily.

Facilities

Indulge your taste buds at the restaurant, where fresh Seafood dominates the menu with prawns, calamari and fresh line fish remaining the ever popular favourites.

The tropical beach bar creates an atmosphere of relaxation. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets, participate in beach volley ball, pub games or simply sip and take pleasure in a refreshing cocktail.

Activities

Barra lodge offers a fully equipped 5 star IDC dive resort. Dive gear hire is available and training is also offered by the resident PADI dive instructors. There are large selections of dive sites from shallow inshore reefs catering for novice divers to deeper reefs for the advanced diver. Marine life commonly seen include devil and manta rays, whale sharks, turtles, potato bass, moray eel and a huge variety of reef fish and for the lucky few a sighting of the rare dugong. Other activities available include, snorkeling, Catamaran day trips, quad bike trails, kayaking, charter boat fishing, fly fishing, horse riding and scenic flights.
